Calendula Full-body Sun Oil (50ML)
$22.00

A bottle of sunshine, this is an easy-to-use herbal body oil that can be applied to the skin year-round, in the dry Summer months to ease red/inflamed sun-kissed skin, or throughout the darker months to bring a little sunshine-infused glow to the skin.

Calendula helps wounds to heal much more rapidly, prevents suppuration and stagnation of fluids, modulates any local inflammation, and prevents bacterial overgrowth and infection. The astringency helps to draw a wound together to heal it more rapidly and prevent excessive scar formation.

Uses: Topical face and body oil. Repairs scarring, cuts, wounds, nappy rash, acne, contact dermatitis, burns, eczema and skin irritations and soreness. Apply to full body & areas of the body needing attention and care, as a massage oil or topical wound healing oil. Take care around the eyes.

Hand-made process: Slow solar-infused whole plant oil is macerated for 6 weeks, allowing a potent, deep extraction for gentle topical application to the face and body.

How Tamara uses:I love placing 5-10 drops onto my fingers and firmly massaging on to the face after a shower. Once or twice a month I massage onto dry areas all over. This is practically my sole ‘skin caring’ routine, leaving the skin with a light ‘glow’ and moistening quality.

Contains: Calendula Officinalis (home-grown) infused oil, extra virgin olive oil.

Comes in 50ml and 100ml amber dropper bottles

Home grown and made by Tamara in Cowaramup, WA.

Milky Oat Nerve Tonic Glycerite (100ml)
$23.00

Oat seed harvested at the ‘milky’ stage is a moistening, sweet nutritional herb, considered a ‘tonic’ for the nervous system.

Classed a nervine trophorestorative, Milky Oat is medicine for modern times, aka late-stage capitalism days, multiple ongoing genocides and climate grief, where our collective ‘systems’ are feeling the immensity of the times.

Use to support tired nervous systems, periods of stress, melancholy, difficulty sleeping, occipital headache, nervous digestion, menstrual headache, recovery from illness, and concentration and focus.

Dosage: 1-3ml with water or directly under the tongue as needed / or 10-15 drops in hot water. According to Peterson, the action is quicker in hot water.

Contains: Homegrown Milky Oat (Oats Green) (Avena sativa), Organic Glycerine, Rainwater.

Safety: Not safe for pregnancy or children.

Caution: Oats contain avenin, a gluten fraction and can result in symptoms of gluten-sensitive and Coeliac disease sufferers.  Alcohol extract should not cause a reaction, however, avoid if highly sensitive or included at low dosage (Garsed & Scott, 2007 as cited in Fisher, 2018).

Disclaimer: The products included are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease and have not been evaluated by the TGA. All products have been extensively tested on myself/friends for quality control.

What is a herbal glycerite?

* Herbal glycerites or fluid glycetrates are alcohol-free herbal preparations, made from vegetable glycerine, a thick, clear, sweet-tasting liquid.

* They are a popular herbal medicine alternative to tinctures, as they do not contain alcohol, they are safe for children and taste very sweet and palatable in comparison to tinctures.

* Herbal glycerites are essentially “strong herbal infusions that are frozen in time” (thank you for this definition, Nicole Rose).

* Glycerine is low in sugar and low on the glycemic index, so it does not affect blood sugar and is safe for diabetics.

* Glycerine has a mild laxative effect and supports digestive processes (peristalsis).

* Glycerites are generally not as potent as tinctures but are a suitable alternative (effectively extracting water-soluble plant constituents) for those who do not consume alcohol.

Herbal Summer Infusion

Dried herbs straight from the garden are for you to enjoy in herbal infusions, as a “simple” or tea blend, or when making your own herbal medicine.

All herbs come in sealed bags.

See herbs for purchase from the drop-down list.

Blends (subject to herbal availability, all ingredients and safety info will be included in the pack).

Herbal mix: Lemon Balm, Rose, Nettle, Oat, Chamomile, Peppermint.
A mix of herb that soothe, cool, coat the gut, support the release of bloating and gas, mild bitters to stimulate digestive enzymes.

How to brew a good tea/infusion: Place 2-3 heaped tablespoons into a 1 litre teapot, or 1-2 teaspoons per cup.

Pour boiling water over herbs and cover for 10-15 minutes. If you’d like a strong brew, you may wish to steep it for 30 minutes or allow to cool and drink chilled with ice. A great ‘sweet’ herbal infusion to encourage fluid intake over Summer.g
